Ipsy Glam Bag March 2024 Unboxing & Review

Guess what we’re celebrating in March? International Women’s Day! I know this is not really a proper holiday in the West, but in Eastern European countries it’s a huge deal and everybody gets a day off work, kind of like Christmas or NYE. This month Ipsy is honoring all the trailblazing badass women in our lives with the Rewrite The Rules theme.

HOW IT WORKS:

Each month as an Ipsy subscriber you will receive a new Glam Bag with a mix of 5 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products customized according to your beauty profile. Members can watch videos and play along with the stylists, all for only $13/month ($50+ value). Click here to check it out.

IN THE BAG:

1// Pacifica Glow Baby Brightening Face Wash ($12) – I actually finished a full-sized tube of this cleanser last year. It bubbles nicely, and feels gentle and soft on the skin. The formula has a slightly acidic pH so it’s non-drying and works well to nourish the skin barrier. Nothing groundbreaking here, it’s just a good cleanser with AHAs for everyday glow. 4/5

2 // Eleman Beauty Lip Liner in So Seductive ($18) – Although lip liners don’t work all that well for me, and this particular color wasn’t a good match, I can still appreciate the formula. I like that it’s soft and glides over the skin without tugging. It also sets to almost smudge-proof finish. I say almost because you can still wipe it off in theory, but that would require a whole lot of rubbing. 4/5

3 // Shades by Shan Life of the Party Vol 2 Eyeshadow Palette ($20) – I love it when Ipsy sends these mini quads! The color stories are usually cohesive and there’s often a good mix of finishes. This particular quad has two matte shades, one shimmery metallic, and one glitter topper, which actually remind of of Charlotte Tilbury palettes. The formula is decent on the mattes, maybe a little bit dry, the metallic was superb, but the glitter had a lot of fallout. 3.5/5

4 // Wingme Cosmetics Mega Shading Brush 13 ($23) – This lovely brush will make a great addition to my collection, I don’t think I have any in this particular shape. It’s thick and fluffy, but also has a rounded edge and flattened sides. Definitely unique! The handle and bristles seem high quality and I haven’t noticed any shedding after the first wash. 5/5

5 // Karma Beauty Replenishing Truffle Leave In Conditioner (?) – Couldn’t find this leave-in conditioner on the brand’s website so this may be a new launch or a product created just for Ipsy. It’s a really good detangler and makes brushing my hair so easy and effortless. Since I have fine hair, I have to be careful not to use too much product, because that can result in it looking greasy and heavy. With some trial and error, I figured that an almond-sized amount was just right. 5/5

BOTTOM LINE:

Overall, I think this is a solid value bag for $13. I was especially happy about the makeup brush, which has a very unique shape unlike anything else I own, and the quality is so good! It reminds me of NARS brushes with that sleek matte base and soft edges. The other two standouts for me were the Pacifica cleanser and the Shades by Shan eyeshadow quad. I will 100% bring the cleanser on my next trip, it’s a good one! And the eyeshadow quad, despite having some issues with the glitter fallout, has a lovely color story for spring. The colors go well together, and if I avoid the glitter pan, I can make it work just fine.

What do you think? Would you be happy with this Glam Bag?
